Discography

Here’s the definitive list of everything FURY, going from our latest 12″ and cd album release to the old 10″ and the split single from the neanderthal period…

URGENT FURY  „HASTA FUEGO!“ 12″ Vinyl & CD

URGENT FURY’s latest album was released in May 2017 and is available on vinyl and on cd. It’s produced by Rodrigo Gonzalez and contains 12 tracks. Here are a few words from Abraham about each of the songs on this album:
1. Cut To Close-Up
It’s stunning the way some people go on living their
lives in the midst of the suffering of others. And it’s
not just the rich and mighty but the everyday „common“
people who learn to step over bodies on their way to
work.
2. Sound Of Laughter
One of the songs I wrote about life in the South Bronx,
back when the crack wars were raging and kids with
guns were shooting everything—and each other—up.
Some of this shit is still going on in major cities across
the US.
3. Madison Rock
James Madison is the real father of democracy, a man
opposed to special interests, big business that would
override the will of the people—gawdammit, ANYTHING
that opposed the will or the benefit of the people was
anathema to him. What would he think of what’s
happened to his America now?? The poor man must be
spinning in his grave. I pay tribute to a fucking great
American who helped launch a great dream which
certain people in America are busy turning into a
nightmare.
4. TBA
„To be Announced“, which generally means who knows
what the fuck will happen?? In my case maybe I’m not so
dependable. I can make plans, but whether I will keep
them is a whole other matter…
5. Time Bomb
Because the world is going to shit then you know it’s
only a question of time before….it goes off…
6. Line Of Sight
A song about the army cummin’na get’cha.
7. Prisoner Of The Modern World
Okay, this is a song about a young punk and a friend of
his that joins the army. Who’s better off? Both have to
struggle for their place & sense of self anyway.
Society and its ways makes you a prisoner…
8. Funeral Pyre
Who can you trust when the world goes to shit?
Politicians lie lie lie and you’re a fool if you believe
them.
9. Powermove
In the old days we used to say, „Power To The People.“
(Hi John.) This is the same concept, if you can find a way
to believe that the people have the power. I believe
they do but don’t know it. Yet
10. Wage Slave
Another song about the joys of being employed and
feeling like a slave that gets constantly…screwed. And
maybe wage slaves could do something about it. If they
could only get off their cell phones for a moment.
11. Old Age
So punk is over 40 years old and most of us punks have
grown older with it…but wiser? What does punk mean
for us, why do we yet cling to it, what symbolic meaning
does it hold in our very souls? the world can go to
hell, once punk changes you inside or outside you’re
just not the same. But my growing old and being punk is
NOT a problem. Wazzit Cicero who said, „Punk is wasted
on the young“??
12. Idiots In Charge
Isn’t it always the case though that the guy or gal in
charge…is usually an idiot??

URGENT FURY: „DEMOS:1984-86″ (10“ vinyl)

l
released: 1992 / Label: Broken Rekids
SIDE ONE: 58,000 Dead, Tet, Injustice Down, American Nazis, Justice Is For The Rich
recorded May 1985 at Blaize’s.  Produced by Blaize and Abraham Rodriguez.
SIDE TWO: Just A Cog In The Corporate World, Body Count, Wasted Youth, Biggest Boy On The Block, From The Office Of The President
recorded November 1986 at NOISE NY.  Produced by Kramer.
The mis-titled Urgent Fury 10″ was a mixture of the first demo on the first side and a second batch of recordings we did at NOISE NEW YORK with the infamous Kramer(HELMET, SURGERY, GG ALLIN) in 1986.  We had more recordings which we did at LOHO STUDIO that were more up to date, but I wasn’t pleased by the recordings.  By 1992 I was fed up and since nobody wanted to do a record(???) I split up the band and put it out myself, with help from Mike at BROKEN REKIDS, putting together what I felt was the best we had at the time.  Dig it: Some of them come in see-thru vinyl…

URGENT FURY SPLIT SINGLE „BODY COUNT“ (7″ vinyl)

f_ufbodycountm_48b0556
released: 1991 / Label: Piggy Bank Records
SIDE A: URGENT FURY „Body Count“
Abraham Rodriguez: Guitar, vocals. / Adam Hoffman, bass. / Harry Viderci, drums.
SIDE AA: YOUTH GONE MAD, „Loudmouth“, featuring Harry Viderci on drums.
Produced by Enai Kostabi?
Doing this single was an idea of Harry’s.  I had no say in the mixing and was against releasing it.  The only redeeming quality is the awesome cover designed by then bassist Adam Hoffmann.

URGENT FURY (DEMO CASETTE)

„JUST A COG IN THE CORPORATE WORLD CASSETTE“

img201

released: October 1986
SIDE ONE: 58,000 Dead, Tet, Injustice Down, American Nazis, Justice Is For The Rich
recorded May 1986 at Blaze’s, Brooklyn NY.  Produced by Abraham Rodriguez & Blaze.
SIDE TWO: Just A Cog In The Corporate World, Body Count, Prisoner Of The Modern World, Wasted Youth, Line Of Sight*
recorded live at The Donny Fury Studio, September 1986.
Abraham Rodriguez: Guitar, Vocals.  / Zev Rogoff: Bass. / Harry Viderci: Drums
The first demo cassette appeared originally with only 5 songs and had the ’soldier‘ cover.  At the time I was drawing historical parallels between the German invasion of Yugoslavia in 1941 („Furious Vengeance“) and The American invasion of Grenada (Operation Urgent Fury“) in 1983, and used lots of images of German soldiers…the press at the time made a big deal about the new helmets American troops were issued…the „safer“ design is very reminiscent of the old German Wehrmacht helmet.  The picture on the cover of the tape is not from the Yugoslavian invasion, it’s from the Ardennes Offensive, 1944, what Americans call „The Battle Of The Bulge.“
A second edition with five more songs was released later after the first demo cassette sold out, including tracks recorded live at Donny Fury’s studio, and a live version of „Line Of Sight“ from our first show ever at CBGB’s. The Donny Fury session included the first ever versions of „Just A Cog In The Corporate World“ and „Body Count“ and the ONLY ever version of „Prisoner Of The Modern World“ that FURY did back then.  These versions did not make it onto the later 10″.  In 2011 I had some of the old master tapes digitized and plan to pop some of these around…
The cover for the second edition was a picture by Robert Frank.  A special thanks to him.  The scratch on design came from Lynette Huang, who also did a lot of our flyers and later designed the 10″ with me.
